Frank Martin (1890-1974) - famous Swiss composer that spent most of his life in the Netherlands. Ballade for Flute and Piano was composed in 1939 in the occasion of The International Competition in Geneva. The lyrics were written by Martin´s wife-Maria. He wanted to give young flute players the opportunity to show their music and artistic skills. A part for piano accompaniment and a part for flute as well as original french lyrics with their english translation-all these elements make this product so interesting.
