Giuseppe Antonio Capuzzi (1755 – 1818) was an Italian composer and violinist. In his time he was recognized and respected as a teacher as well as a composer and musician. As a composer, he would be very versatile, writing operas, ballets, violin concertos, pieces for string quartets and other chamber ensembles. Currently, the most famous of his compositions is the Concerto for Double Bass. Its second and third movements (Andante and Rondo) are often also played on tuba, trombone or euphonium.
