Product description
Bohuslav Martinu music was appreciated by other composers from all around the world and these Songs of Children represents a piece of his work for our youngest ones. In December 1929 Bohuslav Martinu composed these songs using cute French texts and dedicated them to his friends' daughter Sarka from Paris. Lyrics are in three languages - French, German and Czech.
Bohuslav Martinů (1890-1959) was a Czech composer, violinist, pedagogue and music critic. His artistic development progressed from impressionism through neoclassicism, expressionism and jazz inspiration to a purely compositional style of his own. Stylistically, he is closest to the generation of neo-classicists such as Arthur Honegger, Béla Bartók and others.
