The Malí sportovci (Little athletes) are a cycle of eight children's songs based on Josef Brukner's lyrics for children's choir, piano and optionally also for percussion instruments (percussion). The lyrics were beautifully set to music by Eduard Douša and the cycle contains eight short songs about sports (Running, Hockey, Badminton, Football,…), which you can sing not only with the choir, but also solo with piano accompaniment. The songs are suitable for school children's choirs. The melodic line is include chords and you can accompany the songs to other instruments such as guitar, ukulele, keyboards and more ....
Eduard Douša (* August 31, 1951, Prague) is a Czech composer and pedagogue. In 1971 he completed his studies in musicology at Charles University in Prague and continued his education at music theory and composition at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He is a professor at the Prague Conservatory and lectures at the Institute of Musicology, Faculty of Arts, Charles University. In addition to orchestral music, chamber compositions and music for solo instruments, Douša composed music for Czech Radio for more than a hundred radio fairy tales, mini-operas and children's songs.
Josef Brukner (1932 - 2015) was a Czech writer, poet, translator and screenwriter.
