Product description
Slavic dances op. 46 and 72 by Antonín Dvořák are a cycle of musical compositions based on the basic forms of folk music. The orchestral form of "Slavic Dances" is an opus that, with its originality and concept, opened the door to foreign countries for Dvořák and thereby launched his international career.
Dances from the first series (Op. 46) were selected for this symphonic suite and includes dances number 1, 2, 8, 4 and 3. This monumental suite is one of the most impressive transcriptions ever published. Every note comes from the original Dvorak work, including the transitions from one dance to the next. Written for Dr. Harry Begian's last tour with the University of Illinois Symphonic Band, this powerful concert work lets every section of the band shine ... a must for mature groups.
Antonín Leopold Dvořák (1841-1904) was a Czech composer. He is one of the most important Czech composers and is the best known and most performed Czech composer in the world. Dvořák's symphonic and concert works are traditionally part of the repertoire of major orchestras around the world.
