Product description
John Field was born in Dublin on July 26, 1782. He is most remembered for having been the first to compose the Nocturne; his Nocturnes went on to inspire Chopin to compose Nocturnes in his turn. Field died in Moscow on January 23, 1837.
Complete Nocturnes for solo Piano.
John Field (1782-1837) was an Irish composer, pianist and teacher. He studied in London with Muzio Clementi. He is regarded as a pioneer of the nocturne genre and influenced many other composers, including Frédéric Chopin, Johannes Brahms, Robert Schumann and Franz Liszt, who began writing their own nocturnes.
