Stephen Heller (1813-1888), a Hungarian-born concert pianist and composer, counted Chopin, Schumann and Liszt among his friends and admirers. Settling in Paris, he produced more than 160 published piano works. The beautifully evocative Studies, Op. 45 & 46 are among the compositions of Heller which are most familiar to pianists today. Editor & recording artist: William Westney
Stephen Heller (1813-1888) was a Hungarian concert pianist, composer and teacher who spent the last 25 years of his life in Paris. He outlived his reputation and died almost forgotten. Heller composed almost exclusively for the piano. Today, the most famous of his compositions are piano etudes and technical exercises.
William Frank Westney (*1947) is an American classical pianist and professor of music.
