Product description

"10 virtuoso etudes for clarinet" by Jiří Hlaváč are etudes of a truly virtuosic character and serve mainly for constant improvement of the clarinet playing technique. In their imaginative and difficult nature, they can rightly be ranked with etudes such as Ernesto Cavallini's Capriccia, Paul Jeanjean's 18 Etudes de Perfectionnement or Robert Stark's 24 Virtuoso Studies, and deserve to be recognized on a world scale. The Etudes are not only for advanced players, but can be practiced by virtually anyone who adjusts the tempo to suit their ability, and can also be played as concert (recital) pieces.

Jiří Hlaváč (* 1948) is a Czech clarinetist and saxophonist, composer, poet, music organizer, music teacher and publicist, artistic director of the Barock Jazz Quintet and member of the Czech Wind Trio. He studied clarinet at the Brno Conservatory and then at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts. He prepares radio or television programmes such as Mezi streams, To nejlepší z klasiky, Ti nejlepší z klasiky, Musica da camera, Interviews with music. He was for many years chairman of the Association of Music Artists and Scientists. He is also known for his work as a juror in the international competition for young musicians, Concertino Praga, and the MHS Prague Spring. He has published Methodology of Saxophone Playing, Ten Virtuoso Etudes for Clarinet, and Studies on Clarinet Tone.
