Product description
Four manuscript collections of organ pieces that J.E. Kypta wrote to have a quality performance repertoire ready for his "everyday" need (playing in church).
This cleaned facsimile edition was edited by Tomáš Thon and a study about J.E. Kypt and his organ books were written by Petr Koukal. The notation of the composition is in common keys.
Jan Evangelista Kypta (1813 - 1868) was a Czech teacher, organist and composer. His father was a weaver and village musician. He received his basic musical education in his family and later at primary school. In 1832 he entered the Organ School in Prague and after graduating became an organist in Jindřichův Hradec and a year later a teacher. In 1848 he moved to Telč. He taught at the girls' municipal school, became the choir director, formed and directed the church choir and orchestra and founded a music school there. He wrote more than a hundred pieces of mostly church music. Today, especially his Christmas masses and pastorals are alive.
