Product description

"The composition Melodies of Transylvania is based on an original Romanian traditional by an unknown author. The individual motifs of the composition have the character of Romanian folklore from the region of Transylvania and Banat, yet it is not a purely folk song, but rather a lively recital piece.
The composition is arranged for clarinet and piano. The clarinet part does not require as much virtuosity as is needed in most fast Romanian passages. The publication also includes a link to download the demo recording in mp3 so that you have an idea of what the song sounds like.
For the sake of interest, it should be added that Tárogató is used as a solo instrument in Romanian ensembles – a wooden single-reed instrument with a conical opening."  Milan Ort

Milan Ort (*1955) is a Czech violinist, violist, composer and arranger. He studied violin at the Prague Conservatory. He has been a member of many folk ensembles and chamber orchestras, where he has performed in the first violin or viola section. His compositions focus on the stylization of folk music from all parts of the world, especially from Moravia, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. In his other work, he writes small solo or chamber pieces, mainly for children and students of art and music schools.
