Product description
Among his most successful works are the Three Violin Duets, which have received at least four editions in Paris, Vienna, Amsterdam and Offenbach (D). These four editions form the source of the editions in the latest volume of the URTEXT series prepared by István Kertész, first violinist of the world-famous Festetics Quartet. In the two- and three-movement duets, the two violins play completely equal roles.
Mestrino, Nicola (1748-1789) was an Italian violinist and composer. He was a member of Prince Esterházy's orchestra under Joseph Haydn from 1780 to 1785. He later settled in Paris and in 1789 became concertmaster of the orchestra at the Théâtre de Monsieur. He composed 12 violin concertos and other works mainly for violin.
