Product description
Sonatina for alto saxophone and piano was written by the French composer Claude Pascal in 1947. The piece was written in the French spirit of Ravel or Debussy and is firmly rooted in the tonal system and far from any contemporary musical trends. The introduction and performance notes in French and English were written by Nicolas Prost.
Claude Pascal (1921 - 2017) was a French composer. After a short period as conductor of the Opéra-Comique, Pascal became a professor at the Paris Conservatoire in 1952, where he worked until his retirement in 1987. He also worked as a music critic for Le Figaro newspaper and was an expert on copyright issues at the Paris Court of Appeal. Pascal's extensive work as a composer includes practically every musical genre.
