Product description
"Sept Exercices journaliers" brings you seven daily exercises for the flute written by the great Belgian flautist Mathieu-André Reichert in 1872. The exercises are are focused on achieving fluidity and a flexible technique of playing the flute.
Mathieu-André Reichert (1830-1880) was a Belgian flautist, composer and teacher who greatly influenced flute playing in the 19th century. He showed exceptional talent from a young age and studied at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels, where he developed a brilliant technique and singing style. In 1859 he moved to Brazil, where he became a solo flutist in Rio de Janeiro and worked as a teacher and composer. His compositions combine European virtuosity with Brazilian rhythms. His output includes mostly works for flute that emphasize singing melodies, technical brilliance and rich harmonies. Among his best-known pieces are "Valse Mélancolique" and "Ode à la Nuit", which are still among the favourite repertoire of flutists today.
