Product description
In August 1917 Josef Suk composed a small occasional bagatelle "Carrying a Bouquet" for flute, violin and piano. It is a small, charming nocturne, reminiscent in melody of Suk's teacher and father-in-law Antonín Dvořák. The piece was intended for Suk's son, a pianist, and for his two friends, a violinist and a flautist, who needed easier repertoire for their music-making. The flute part can be replaced ad libitum by another violin.
Josef Suk (1874 - 1935) was a Czech composer, violinist and pedagogue, student and son-in-law of Antonín Dvořák. He was a great lyricist of Czech music at the turn of the late Romanticism and Modernism of the 20th century. He is one of the most prominent representatives of the Dvořák school of composition and one of the founders of Czech musical modernism.
