The meter changes from 2/2 to 1/2 (!) to 5/4 time, and the tempo is marked as "Presto." The left hand does quite a bit of ostinato broken octave work and the right hand will have broken chord and scale work.
Dennis Alexander (*1947) is a successful and popular American composer who has earned an international reputation as one of North America's most prolific and popular composers of instructional piano music for students of all levels. For 24 years he was a professor of piano performance and piano pedagogy at the University of Montana. He retired in 1996 and has been mainly composing music ever since.
