Jan Křtitel Vaňhal (1739 -1813) was a Czech composer and versatile musician who mastered playing several instruments, playing string and wind instruments, organ, piano and harpsichord. During his lifetime, Jan Křtitel Vaňhal was one of the most popular and admired authors. In later life he taught music and became a sought-after piano teacher. His piano compositions are still popular and used pedagogical material. During his lifetime, Vaňhal composed a large number of spiritual and secular compositions, orchestral and chamber compositions, compositions for keyboard instruments, serenades and songs.
