Product description
This superb songbook includes 23 pieces by Yann Tiersen written between 1994 and 2003, including 13 previously unreleased works. Yann Tiersen's Piano works have proved enduringly popular, his previous Songbook, Amelie, selling over 100,000 copies.
Yann Tiersen (* 1970) is a French musician and composer whose music career is divided between studio recordings and musical collaboration in writing songs for film soundtracks. His music includes a large number of musical instruments, both classical and electronic. In his compositions you can often hear an electric guitar, piano, synthesizers, violin, but also instruments such as the melodica, xylophone, harpsichord, accordion or even a typewriter. Tiersen himself says that he is not a composer, that his real interest is to give concerts and record studio albums. Tracks from his first three studio albums were then used as music to the French film's Amélie of Montmartre (2001).
