"Songs for Two" brings you six pieces for violin and cello arranged or written by Jan Vrkoč.
Under the title "Songs for Two", you will find arrangements of four well-known Czech folk songs, which can bring students a variety of knowledge, in addition to learning about our national songs also practicing various playing techniques - détaché, spiccato, pizzicato, melodic ornaments, play of double touches, etc. Pupils can practice well tone formation, presentation and expression play.
Under the title "Two Miniatures" there are two more demanding and purely concert compositions, which are intended for more technically advanced students (from about 14 years).

Jan Vrkoc (*1969) is a Czech composer, violinist, music publicist and book designer. He studied violin at the Prague Conservatory and music composition at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno. He is the author of over 100 compositions of various genres and musical styles. He writes mainly songs, but also pieces for chamber ensembles, stage music and orchestral compositions.
