Karl Stiegler (1876-1932) was an Austrian horn player and teacher who made an indelible mark on the history of wind music. As solo hornist of the Vienna Philharmonic, he brought his unique musical expression and technical bravura to the orchestra. In addition to his active playing, he was a respected teacher at the Vienna Conservatory, where he trained many talented musicians who have continued his legacy. Stiegler was not only an excellent performer, but also a composer and arranger of music for the French horn.
